Kuwaiti anglers spend a lot of time reading wind forecasts and very little reading the water itself. That is backwards. Water temperature decides where fish sit, when they feed and how far they move, and the small effort it takes to measure and record it pays back within one season.
Air changes fast; water changes slowly. That is why the two are rarely saying the same thing. In February you can have a cold morning over water still holding heat from autumn. In July the air is hot but the inshore shallows can be far hotter, and often past the point where fish want to be there. Fishing decisions should follow the water. Measure it, do not guess it.
Warm water speeds up a fish's metabolism. It burns energy faster and needs to feed more often, which gives you active fish and wider feeding windows. Push the temperature too high and the same fish turn sluggish and move off to cooler water, feeding very little. Cold water slows everything down: fish cover short distances and eat reluctantly. Between those extremes, the most reliable windows tend to be early morning and last light, when shallow water sits at its most comfortable.
In winter the water cools and the inshore shallows stay workable, so fish push close to the beaches, into the bays and around the islands. In high summer the shallows get uncomfortably warm and fish move deeper, or hold around structure, current and shade where conditions are easier. Spring and autumn are transition periods: the water column sits somewhere in the middle and both shore and boat fishing pick up. The practical rule is simple โ when the shallows are hot, look deeper; when they are cold, look closer to shore.
One line per trip is enough: date, time, tide state, water temperature, wind direction and strength, depth fished, species, bait and result. Nothing fancy is required. After ten trips you will see entries pairing up, and after a season the pattern is hard to miss.
Most articles about Kuwait fishing repeat the same lines: spring is good, dawn is good. True, but broad. Your own record is specific. It shows which temperature, depth and tide combination actually produced fish at your spots, on your boat or beach. That is the part no guide can hand you.
