Towing a boat on Kuwait's roads looks simple: hook up the trailer and drive. Most problems start in the first twenty kilometres or on the ramp, and the cause is always a small detail someone skipped. Here is the order that works.
Check the towing limit of the car before the trailer's label. Every vehicle has a maximum towing weight and a rear axle limit. If your combined load sits above that, the brakes work harder and the hitch takes loads it was never built for.
Dry hull weight is not the real weight. Half a tank of fuel, a battery, fenders and a box of tackle add a hundred kilos without any effort.
Trailer tyres sit for months, so they lose pressure quietly between trips. Check them cold, and check the rubber itself: sidewall cracks mean replace, not "it will be fine". One tyre failing at highway speed ends the trip for everyone behind you.
Strap the boat at four points minimum, and keep webbing off the gelcoat directly so it does not mark the finish. Tilt the motor up and lock it, then clear anything loose from the boat โ a life ring takes off in the wind faster than you can brake.
A boat on a trailer lengthens your stopping distance and cuts corners tighter than you expect. Leave twice the gap you normally would and drive below the flow of traffic. On the Seventh Ring Road and the highways, stay right, and treat the number on the trailer as a ceiling rather than a target.
Crosswinds and passing trucks push the trailer around. If the boat starts to sway, do not stab the brakes โ ease off the throttle and hold the wheel steady.
At the Shuwaikh or Shuaiba ramp, rig the boat on flat ground away from the queue: straps off, lines on, motor ready. Do not park on the ramp to sort your gear while others wait.
Once you are out, rinse the trailer, brakes and coupling with fresh water. Salt eats brake internals quietly and only shows up the day you need them.
Before leaving home, check sea state and tide times for Shuwaikh and Shuaiba ports in the B7R app, so you arrive with the ramp and swell on your side. The B7R app also keeps your catch log tidy, one entry at a time.
