12 Top Fishing Spots in Kuwait by Time and Season

Kuwait's coast is not one long, uniform shoreline. Every area has its own bottom, current and timing, and the spot that works on a rising tide may be a waste of an evening on the drop. The upside is that you can fish most of it from shore, with no boat.

This list covers twelve spots, ordered from easiest access to the ones that need real planning, with the bottom type and best timing for each. There are no guarantees and no numbers here, because results shift with tide, wind and season.

Close to the city

These four are a short drive from Kuwait City and work well as after-work sessions.

• Shuwaikh: sand and mud beside the port channel, with depth on the channel edge; best around the tide change.
• Salmiya shore: rocky edge mixed with sand, deeper water right off the wall, and quiet at first light.
• Doha, Ras Al Ard: sand with scattered rock, good for bait fished on the bottom at night; watch the current on the drop.
• Fintas: rock and sand with a stronger current, best on the falling tide, and it rewards a steady stance and a tight bait.

South coast: Abu Halifa to Shuaiba

The southern shore is quieter and muddier in places, which changes how you fish it.

• Abu Halifa: muddy bottom with seagrass and shallow water; it fishes well on the rise and demands patience.
• Fahaheel: soft sand and very easy access, a comfortable choice for a family session with light gear.
• Mina Abdullah: sand and mud with deeper channels, worth fishing on a strong tide with heavier weight; keep clear of boat traffic.
• Shuaiba: exposed rock near the port mixed with sand, strong tides, so pick your window and keep clear of the shipping lanes.

Remote spots that need planning

These are the rewarding ones, but they need fuel, daylight, and a clear idea of the tide before you go.

• Zour: mud, sand and channels between islands; safe passage and respect for protected areas are essential.
• Subiya: wide shallow water over mud, best fished from a light boat as the tide starts to rise.
• Julaia'a: sand and mud with a calm feel, suited to a long session; check the road before you commit.
• Khiran: sand, mud and channels, fishable from shore or a small boat; low tide exposes a lot of ground.

Choosing by time and season
