Qaiz in Kuwait runs from mid-June to the end of August, and the heat does not negotiate. The people who fish through it every year are not tougher than you โ they are just better organised. After the afternoon the sea breeze returns, the heat eases and fish move back inshore. An evening session from 5:30pm to sunset gives you a strong second window, especially around jetties and bridge pilings. Watch the humidity at sunset too โ cooler air does not remove the load on your body.
Heat exhaustion signs are easy to spot: headache, dizziness, nausea, confusion, heavy sweating, or sweating that suddenly stops. If any of them show up, head for shore and cool the person down fast.
