January through March is usually the coolest stretch, and the water tends to be calmer with gentler winds. It suits shore fishing and small boats, especially at dawn, when the table fish show up in good numbers.
Watch late February and March though, when dust and shifting winds can move in fast and ruin a trip without warning.
April and May bring moderate temperatures and settled winds, making this the best window for beach days, family outings, and swimming before summer heat arrives. That window is short, so use it well.
It is very hot, humidity is high, and the shamal can blow hard enough to turn the water rough. Long trips get exhausting for both crew and gear, so early morning or after sunset is the better bet.
In July and August, wave and wind conditions often decide whether a trip happens at all, and far fewer small boats stay out on the water.
This is the best marine stretch of the year. The air cools gradually, the water clears, and trips become comfortable again.
