Kuwait Tide Forecasts: Practical Guide

B7R Blog

Fishing and boating in Kuwait run on the tide. Fish move with the water, launch ramps change depth by the hour, and a boat that floats at high tide can sit in the mud at low tide. Skip the tide check and you are fishing blind.

This guide shows you how to read Kuwait tide forecasts and build them into every trip โ€” whether you fish from the shore or run a boat.

How to Read a Tide Table

A tide table is a simple list. For each day it gives you:

Read it in three steps. Find your date. Check the low tide time โ€” that is when the water is shallowest. Then compare heights: the bigger the gap between high and low, the stronger the current and the faster the change.

Where Kuwait's Tides Come From

Kuwait usually gets two high tides and two low tides every day. This semi-diurnal pattern is standard across the Arabian Gulf. The moon and the sun pull on the water, and the Gulf's shallow basin and narrow mouth shape the result.

One practical detail: tide times shift about 50 minutes later each day, so yesterday's table is already wrong. Always check the forecast for the exact day you plan to go out.

Shore Fishing vs Boat Trips

Shore fishing and boat fishing work different parts of the tide. From the beach, the best window is usually the two hours around high tide โ€” rising water pushes fish into casting range. When the tide falls, they pull back out to depth. Fish the rise hard and use low water for rigging and rest.

Boats are the opposite in many spots. Ledges and wrecks fish best while the current is moving, usually mid-tide rather than at slack water. Time your drift for moving water and the bites pick up.

Launching at Low Tide: Know the Risk

Low tide is when most launching problems happen. Flats that look fine from the ramp can be too shallow for the propeller, and a boat can settle on its keel as the water keeps dropping. On an outgoing tide, a slow start can leave you stuck until the next rise โ€” hours away.

New to an area? Launch one to two hours after low tide, on a rising tide. You get deeper water ahead of you, and if anything goes wrong, the water is coming back.

Use Tide Windows, Not Luck

Put the tide in the plan the night before:

Before you leave, check the tide times for Shuwaikh and Shuwaiba ports in the free B7R app, with the sea conditions right beside them โ€” one look and your window is clear.

After the trip, log the day in the B7R app. Compare a few trips against the tide and patterns show up fast: which spots fire on the flood and which work on the ebb.
